The arrival of the LYRIKA.

Image
The LYRIKA is a Lithuanian registered general cargo vessel which appears in Tweedmouth from time to time. She operates between various English ports and inland ports in Europe.

Eggleston Hall, County Durham,

A recent trawl through some old negatives (Ilford XP2) resulted in a set of pictures from a visit to the old chapel at Eggleston Hall in County Durham.

Circles... again.

Even more circles have been seen since the last time I put some pictures up on the blog... Taken at 5.20pm!!

Yorkshire is getting smaller...

Image
The Holderness coast in East Yorkshire is one of the fastest eroding coasts in the UK. It is also home to quite a number of coastal caravan parks, many of which seem to be a bit too close to the cliff edge! Coastal defences are in place in some areas in the form of rock and concrete blocks placed at the base of the cliffs but elsewhere the sea takes a few feet every year and old maps will show numerous villages which have been lost to the sea.  These pictures show the situation immediately south of Hornsea. A few yards further south the defences end and the cliffs have been taken forming a long bay as can be seen from this aerial image.
