Cinemas and Theatres.

I recently started a long term project looking at the architecture of cinemas and theatres both in use and those being used for new (or no) purposes.

These first pictures are of the Odeon in York, an art deco design. It was opened in 1937 but closed briefly in 2006 opening again in 2009 as part of the Reel Cinemas chain. In 2017 it was purchased by Everyman Cinemas and now has four screens each with sofa seating. It is a grade 2 listed building.
