Garlieston

 Garlieston is a small village and harbour on the east coast of the Whithorn peninsular facing Wigtown Bay. The harbour area has seen better times but the houses facing the bay are well kept and painted rather like the houses in the Isle of Whithorn. 

The biggest "industry" at present seems to be the caravan site which is situated on the site of the old railway station.

Killhope Mining Museum

 On a recent trip to Northumberland we stopped off at the Killhope Mining Museum in Weardale. Our last visit was about 30 years ago and we were interested to see what changes had been made. Unfortunately the wheel was shrouded in scaffolding so no pictures were possible but I have included a couple from our last trip. They had all facilities in those days.
